It’s time to begin another year with Connecticut Envirothon! The Envirothon program provides a great opportunity for students to interact with professionals in the environmental field during training workshops and the annual field competition in May. Teams can consist of up to 5 members (plus 2 alternates) with advisor(s). There will also be a $75 registration fee this year (fee waived for second teams and new schools). Here is the link to register for the 2021-2022 competition: https://forms.
We will email you when we receive your electronic submission and mailed registration fee.
We understand that this school year is very uncertain, however, we are striving to be adaptable and accessible virtually no matter what the situation. The Steering Committee is excited to share a glimpse of what our program will look like this year:
- Each of the four stations will craft a kit full of educational and hands-on materials that the students will navigate themselves and complete. There will most likely be 2 station kits delivered in the fall, and the other 2 in the spring.
- There will be a scavenger hunt in the fall with all of the teams to compete for prizes! The goal of this is to get the students out in nature!
- Short informational videos will be released on our Youtube channel
- Due to the uncertainties of COVID-19 we are unsure if the field day competition in May will be virtual or in-person. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep all of the teams up to date. If there is a possibility of in person events in the spring we may also look into having one or two in person workshops or review days.
Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. We look forward to this year’s Connecticut Envirothon! Best wishes as the school year starts, stay safe!
